Everest
University Online
"About Everest
Everest University Online began its venture into online learning in the
winter quarter of 1999 by offering five courses on two campuses. After
our initial pilot phase, Everest expanded its online course offerings
to include all nine Everest campuses for the winter quarter of 2000. At
the same time, we received approval to develop online enrollment for
any of the courses within the standardized Business Administration
program. In the Fall of 2001, additional approval was granted to offer
the Accounting and Criminal Justice programs online.
Accreditation
Everest University Online is accredited by the Accrediting Council for
Independent Colleges and Schools (750 First Street NE, STE 980
Washington, DC 20002-4241; 202-336-6780).
In order for our U.S. students to receive government-sponsored
financial aid, each Corinthian College, Inc. school must be, and is,
accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Once accredited, our U.S. schools are subject to ongoing monitoring.
The accreditation agencies conduct regular visits at each of the
schools and require systematic internal review and reporting, leading
up to re-accreditation every three to five years.
In Canada, each school is approved by a provincial Ministry of
Education. These organizations look to our schools to comply with high
standards for accreditation. We strive to be compliant with their
policies and requirements in such areas as retention and job placement.
